Graduate in Physical Sciences, specialising in atmospheric physics, from the University of Barcelona, with training in modelling the dispersion of air pollutants from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and in atmospheric chemistry from UNED.<\/p>\n
She holds a Master’s Degree in Environment and Energy from the Catalan Institute of Technology (ICT).<\/p>\n
Between 2011 and 2016 she served as Director General for Environmental Quality within the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Government of Catalonia, where she led the \u201cAction Plan to improve air quality in the Barcelona conurbation 2020\u201d. In 2011 she declared the first air pollution episode in the 40 municipalities designated as special protection areas for pollution, which included Barcelona Airport and the Port of Barcelona as major sources of gas and particulate emissions.<\/p>\n
Between 2016 and 2018 she headed the Catalan Energy Institute. During this period, the Government of Catalonia approved the National Pact for the Energy Transition of Catalonia and the Parliament passed the Climate Change Law. In the same period, she was President of the Association of Spanish Energy Management Agencies, EnerAgen, where manifestos were coordinated calling on the Spanish Government to repeal the sun tax and the ban on sharing self-generated energy among citizens.<\/p>\n
In August 2018 she left her political responsibilities to join the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of Fundaci\u00f3n Renovables. She also joined the Academic Council of the Business Association for the Promotion of Electric Vehicles, AEDIVE, and was elected by the General Assembly of the citizen energy cooperative Som Energia to join its Governing Board.<\/p>\n
