Juan Castro Gil Amigo

Graduate in Law from the University of A Coruña. Member of the Lugo Bar Association since 1997. Practising lawyer since 1997, specialising in the electricity sector, particularly in matters related to renewable technologies. National Secretary of the National Association of Photovoltaic Energy Producers and Investors (ANPIER) from 2010 to the present. Co-founding member of the Spanish Association of Energy Law (AEDEN). CEO of GABA ENERGÍA, an electricity retailer, and Vice-President of Fundación Renovables since 2016.

Throughout this time he has written more than 100 articles on energy and law, published in various sector-specific and legal journals, as well as in outreach blogs and the general press. He has directed and co-authored several legal works: Regulatory Risk in Renewable Energy (Thomson-Reuters Aranzadi, 2015), Regulatory Risk in Renewable Energy – Volume II (Thomson-Reuters Aranzadi, 2017), Energy Regulation and its Social and Environmental Impact (Thomson-Reuters Aranzadi, 2019), Monograph on the Internal Electricity Market Directive (Thomson-Reuters Aranzadi, 2020) and Energy Law and the Clean Energy Package (Thomson-Reuters Aranzadi, 2021).

He regularly takes part in training courses, conferences and academic talks in both general and specialised fields, in professional, university and general education settings, including: Carlos III University of Madrid, Gijón Polytechnic School of Engineering, San Pablo University of Madrid, Higher Technical School of Engineers of Madrid, Madrid Bar Association, Zaragoza Bar Association, Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, SEPAR Spain congresses, Lugo Polytechnic School of Higher Education and Gregorio Fernández Secondary School in Sarria.
