An eco-friendly strategy for small towns

Share document

Small towns and villages play a vital role in the green transition, decarbonisation and addressing demographic challenges. The aim is to achieve decarbonisation and energy self-sufficiency; to do so, they must ensure their energy consumption is as efficient as possible, phase out the use of fossil fuels such as petrol and natural gas, and gradually replace them with clean, renewable energy sources.

The Fundación Renovables has produced this guide to help municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants meet the objectives of the energy transition, with a particular focus on those with fewer than 10,000. In it, we explain how they should develop their own roadmap, identifying the energy strategy to follow and proposing a whole range of complementary measures to achieve this.
