  • The partnership aims to fill a gap in the publishing market with texts that combine technical rigour, political analysis and proposals from the public.
  • The series will address the challenges of decarbonisation from a cross-cutting perspective: social justice, the circular economy and energy sovereignty.

Madrid, 11 May 2026.- Fundación Renovables, a leading authority on energy policy analysis in Spain, and the publishing house Catarata, which specialises in essays and critical thinking, announce the launch of ‘Transiciones’. This new publishing collection is launched with the firm aim of building a solid and proactive narrative that drives the urgent shift towards a more sustainable social, economic and energy model.

In a context marked by the climate emergency and the volatility of energy markets, ‘Transiciones’ emerges not only as a space for reflection, but also as a tool for citizen action and a repository of proposals. The collection aims to democratise complex concepts, facilitate their understanding and offer a clear roadmap for the decarbonisation of Spanish society.

The collection ‘Transiciones’ is committed to technical dissemination and delves, from different perspectives and approaches, into critical analysis and proposals for change to advance the fight against climate change and turn the utopian future into a reality. Electrification, renewables as a tool for sovereignty, the fight against energy poverty and the democratisation of energy are the central pillars of this collection, which encompasses all academic, professional and social disciplines.

In this partnership, Catarata brings its extensive experience in publishing texts that foster critical thinking, whilst the Fundación Renovables ensures the rigour and strategic vision of a constantly evolving sector, along with its experience gained from working on the front line. The books in the ‘Transitions’ collection will feature contributions from leading experts, academics and activists who will offer their critical and constructive perspectives on the socio-economic moment we are living through and topics of rigorous current debate.

Fundación Renovables is a research and innovation centre working to accelerate the energy transition, democratise energy and move towards a 100% renewable and electrified future. Through studies, analysis and outreach, it seeks to drive structural changes that enable the fight against climate change whilst reducing social and economic inequalities.

Catarata is an independent publishing project that aims to contribute to the dissemination of critical thinking. It seeks to attract new readers and authors who exchange not only information and viewpoints, but also emotions and strategies for action. It publishes books characterised by their informative nature, which aim to stimulate reflection and debate on political, economic, cultural and social realities.
