Madrid, 7 October 2025. Fundación Renovables has joined more than a dozen organisations in calling on political parties to act responsibly ahead of the vote on the Sustainable Mobility Law this Wednesday, 8 October.
The Sustainable Mobility Law is entering the final phase for approval of the text after years of stagnation. It should be remembered that this legislative project was shelved after the early election of 2023 and has since been subject to review and parliamentary debate.
Fundación Renovables and the rest of civil society have since been working and engaging in dialogue with political parties to include environmental and social improvements in its provisions.
Although there have been difficulties during the processing of the law—and although not all our requests have been incorporated—it can be said that the bill has managed to include some of the most necessary demands to move towards the decarbonisation of the transport-mobility sector, while also benefiting citizens and the working class.
Fundación Renovables, together with the other civil-society organisations, calls on the parliamentary groups in the Congress of Deputies to support the vote on Wednesday, 8 October.
We urge the Government and parliamentary groups to make every necessary effort, at the highest level, to secure the majority needed to approve the law.
Given the significant impact that transport and mobility have on people’s lives, public health and the environment, Spain urgently needs a Sustainable Mobility Law.
The bill to be voted on this Wednesday, while still open to improvement, lays the foundations for progress towards a multimodal, decarbonised, efficient, sustainable, fair and inclusive transport system in Spain.
