The Fundación Renovables has worked on developing two methodologies relating to cooling and heating plans and, to this end, has received support from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITERD). On the one hand, a document has been produced analysing passive measures in buildings and cities, which has been written and designed in collaboration with the University of Málaga (UMA).
Furthermore, in partnership with CREARA, a methodology for analysing active strategies to design heating, cooling and climate control plans in cities was published this June. Unlike the previous document, this one focuses on specific measures aimed at decarbonising buildings and improving their efficiency.
These two documents are key tools for advancing the Heating and Cooling Plans which, as mentioned above, must be designed and implemented by all Spanish cities with more than 45,000 inhabitants to comply with the European Energy Efficiency Directive adopted in 2023.
